"Leaves are falling all around.....

on the housetops, on the ground..."

I've never been able to sing that song before....
Guess what! Now I can! I've decided I love autumn, although it is a bit confusing because it's freezing in the mornings, but by the afternoon, it's warm and sunny. Getting ready in the morning takes a little extra thought cuz I have to be prepared for whatever wacky weather may hit in the middle of the day...

I never really thought about the fact that leaves don't change color consistently...They're more tie-die for awhile...Cool!

Look at those colors!

one of my favorite trees...

dark green, lime green, purple, burnt orange, buttery yellow...
Our friends from Indiana thought it was "cute" when all us AZ hooligans started galumphing around in the swirl of falling leaves...

this bush is my favorite. I pass it every day walking to work. it looks like an explosion :)
we had a leaf fight....in the soggy muddy leaves :)
now that's just fun. :)

Inevitably though, the days have been getting colder and colder, and by this morning, I changed my lyrics to:

"Snow is falling all around
On the housetops, on the ground.
Snow is falling on my nose,
on my head and hands and toes."

Day by day, we've watched as it crept further and further down the mountain, using the Y to measure the progress.

Last night, I could hear quite the commotion outside, so this morning, I was sure to bundle up just in case. Sure enough, this is what I woke up to...

I was excited, despite my apprehensions about the next 5 months. And I saw snowflakes for the first time! I've been in a snow storm, but not the kind where you could actually see the crystally designs in the little sparkly flakes. They'd land in my hair and not melt! So I could examine. :) I guess, now I can also add "snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes" to my list of favorite things, because I know what they're talking about now. :)

Too bad winter isn't really like this. Too bad it gets slushy and grey and blizzardy and windy.
Because otherwise, this, my friends, would be perfect. I think I'm ready for it to be Christmas now. Just sayin. :)
Oh, and while we're on the subject of holidays, this was my pumpkin this year.

It's the old BYU logo, in case you can't tell. It looks cooler in person. But I realized, it disappeared. Must have rotted and got thrown away. Darn. Oh yes, and I have 2 Halloween parties this weekend, and no idea what to do for a costume....Lame.

  2. I love all the fall pictures! Seasons are pretty, great, aren't they?! Too bad you didn't take your tattoo sleeves, but the gypsy is a great idea :) I have no doubt that you will come up with something great! xoxoxo

  4. Your pictures are beautiful. The BYU campus is at her loveliest in the fall. Ummmm, wear something funky and go as a European. (That's what my Maxwell is doing)
