Friday Favorites: General Conference Weekend

It's no secret that I'm an Arizona girl. No matter how far away I am and no matter how long I'm gone, Arizona will always have my heart.
Unfortunately, it's been almost 6 months since I've been home. And I've been missing it terribly.
Fortunately, my dad had a mission reunion in the area last weekend so my family decided to pack up the new suburban and make the 10 hour drive to Utah.
Tucker also had a mission reunion up in Salt Lake on Friday night so we mostly spent Saturday with my family, with many hours spent in front of the TV to watch the semi-annual General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Words of encouragement and wisdom from modern prophets of God with topics ranging from faith to motherhood to patience to centering our lives on Christ to keeping the commandments. It's one of my favorite parts of the year, but it was made even better with family in town.

Saturday morning started bright and early with delicious breakfast at Kneaders. With time to spare before the first session, we headed to Savers to get my brother a good winter coat, and we all chose some treasures. I found the first 4 Harry Potter movies for $3 so that was exciting. Back at the house, we watched conference and snacked and played and laughed. Annie slept terribly the night before, so halfway through, I took her upstairs for a nap. At the noon break, a lot of us headed to Ross and Old Navy (yay for grandmas buying adorable things for the granddaughter) and picked up J-Dawgs for everyone for lunch. The 2nd session of conference included a little more dozing and little less paying attention to the talks. At the 4:00 break, we all headed to Costco for a giant, parent-sponsored shopping trip. We got some delicious things for dinner, so while the men all watched the 6:00 Priesthood session downstairs, us women created a delicious hamburger feast, complete with Caesar salad, Caprese salad, and perfectly sweet berries.

The new suburban, and the first time we've all fit in the car since Tressie was born 7 years ago...

It was the perfect way to spend a General Conference Saturday, and I only wish it could have lasted longer. And many thanks to Melissa for always letting my family invade her beautiful home. :)

My favorite part about the whole weekend was how adorable and loving Annie was. She gave loves and snuggles. She played with her aunt and uncles. She danced and sang and loved every minute being with her extended family.

Loving on Uncle Jace

playing a silly kicking game with Uncle Luke

begging Grandma for a snuggle

Getting a ride on the broom from Tio

And now Tucker's family is scheduled to arrive in town this afternoon so we get to do it all over again!
