Height: ?
Weight: 16ish pounds?
Milestones and Firsts: second tooth came in on April 7th, climbs up on the couches, and can unwrap Reese's chocolate Easter bunnies. She was so dang proud of herself that I just stuck her in her high-chair and let her eat it. And first words on April 6th!!!!
- I made Easter baskets this year, and Annie's was just the right size to be a little bed for her two little baby dolls. I put the babies in the basket and patted them while saying, "Night-night!" Annie looked at me for a moment, and then patted the babies and repeated, "Nigh-nigh!" It was so cute, and I've been able to get her to do it over and over again. In the video, she's getting bored, so she just kinda yells it. So now, she says "da-da-da-da-da!" and "nigh-nigh!" I love her little voice!
Nicknames: Pretty girl, Baby love, Annie-Bananie, Teeny girl, Deet-dee
Favorite Things: Baby Einstein (specifically the one with the hippo puppet about shapes), Easter Jelly Beans, Cheerios, PB&J sandwiches, Oreos (always), pat-a-cake, peek-a-boo, experimenting with her voice's volume, Mom, dancing and playing with Dad, laying across our necks (not sure why, but she thinks it's hilarious)
Dislikes: getting put in her carseat, going to bed in her crib, strangers (which pretty much includes everyone besides Mom and Dad right now), and riding in the cart at Costco apparently (although she was happy once she got an Eggo from the sample lady...)
Things We Did This Month: General Conference, spent time at the park as a family, picked dandelions, played with potato bugs in the yard, watched Frozen, visited Arizona, met Uncle Layton, and didn't take enough pictures
- She was SOOOOOOO good on the flights! I was a little worried because she hasn't been on a plane since she was only a few weeks old and slept the whole time. I wasn't so sure she'd be happy sitting on my lap the whole time. But she did great! On the way down, she was awake and happy the whole time, smiling at the people behind us, and then fell asleep during landing. And on the way back, she fell asleep right after take-off, and stayed asleep until we landed. Amazing!
- And Arizona was so great! I wish I had a whole ton of pictures, but we just focused on spending time with family. Annie loved all the little kids, which included aunts, uncles, and cousins 8 years and under. Anyone older than that was a little bit scary, and she just avoided eye contact with them. Hopefully a year from now, we'll be moving down so she can actually have a relationship with them all. More on Arizona later. :)
Moments to Remember: doing monkey-bars with Dad, when she hears the birds and dogs outside and stops everything to just listen, morning snuggles, the way she ran over to give her little aunts and uncles hugs, sleeping on Papa's (my dad) chest on Troy and Tressie's bed with the window open to the Arizona rain, the way her older uncles fought over her because they love her so dang much, and the POO OF THE CENTURY! That will get its own post, but here's a lovely preview picture.
The Little Things: Oh, what more can I say about this little darling?! We love her so much, and daily exclaim things like, "She's just the best!" or "She's the cutest!" Her little personality is shining right out. She loves exploring and going on adventures....as long as she can still see Mom. Her favorite time of day is when Tucker and I are just relaxing in bed letting her play before we put her to bed. She thinks it's the greatest thing in the world to run across the bed (it's a mattress on the floor so she can't fall too far) and crash onto us - usually Dad. She'll sing songs and dance and yell to herself as loud as she can just because it's fun. Her scwunchy-face smile is our favorite thing in the whole world, and her giggles are the best. I love that even though she's trying so hard to be a big kid, I still get sweet, tired baby snuggles. She's my favorite teeny girl, alright.
Wow! Those blow outs are just so fun to clean up. She is a pretty baby. Just realized that my dear friend, running partner, neighbor and primary chorister sang with you at BYU...Kristen Leseur Hyde...small world.
