Denton Days

A few weeks ago, we got invited to participate in Denton Days with Gran and the little uncles and aunt. It was a beautiful, January afternoon in Arizona - sunny, a light breeze, and plenty of space to run and play at the park.

Annie loves birds of any kind, and as soon as she spotted the pond, she bolted for the ducks. Luckily, she has a daddy and a couple watchful uncles to keep her safe.

We finally distracted her from the pond long enough to interest her in the playground. All the kids piled on this giant, spinning dais while Tucker got his workout pushing it around and around.

But after 30 minutes or so, the kids spotted another playground, and off they ran. The boys were the first ones on these discs, daring Tucker to spin them faster and higher. And after just a little cajoling, we even got Gran to try it!

It took a few minutes for the dizziness to wear off, though.....

As the boys played, Annie ran around, and the light suddenly turned golden. And there is nothing prettier than this little Goldie Locks in perfect golden light.

my favorite....

As the light started to sink, and the air cooled down, kids began to get hungry and tired.

But not before one last go on the flying discs! Tummies were queasy on the ride home, and one kid even had to sprint to the toilet the moment we got home to throw up! But only a few weeks later, they're all still talking about it like it was the best roller-coaster ride ever!
